Transforming digital operations
We collaborated with MGS to create a multipurpose gateway for Scotland's museum and gallery sector. It was designed to promote key resources, broaden reach and provide a launch platform for their national strategy.
We helped Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) create a contemporary and relevant new website designed purposefully for end users. It is the home of their new strategy, a portal for museum and gallery staff and promotes the organisation as the sector lead and provider of support.
The objectives of the site were to:
An extensive Discovery phase ensured we started the project with invaluable user insight. We built upon the Discovery findings, translating the knowledge in comprehensive digital Planning sessions in collaboration with MGS stakeholders. We tested everything; site structure, mega drop down approach and naming conventions with focus groups.
Aligning the tested site map with key business calls to action and measurements of success, human centred design maximised the conversion potential of the new site. We also removed all dead ends to ensure every visitor is presented with an expected, but measurable, action.
The result is a site that has increased across all of their key metrics, from visitor engagement to conversion, bounce rate reduction to better content control within the CMS.
Delivering a new website is a complicated, stressful process. Finding the right developer to work with can make or break your project. It was important to us to work with someone who shares our values, that we could establish a long term working relationship with. Primate have demonstrated those values in every step of the process, and it shows in the website we've created together.
